WHAT IS A
GENERAL POWER OF ATTORNEY?
You can also execute a General Power of Attorney. A General Power of Attorney authorizes your “attorney-in-fact” to sign any document and to act on your behalf as if you were personally present. A General Power of Attorney will usually specific but not be limited to certain acts that are empowered, such as signing checks to withdraw money from your financial accounts, executing documents, selling and encumbering your real estate interest, etc. A Power of Attorney may by its terms revoke any prior Power of Attorney. It may also specifically not revoke other Power of Attorneys.
