AVOID CONSERVATORSHIP

If you become incapacitated and you do not have an effective Durable Power of Attorney a court will appoint someone to take over your finances and legal affairs. This person is often a lawyer and a stranger to you and your family.

You avoid this with a properly prepared trust and/or Durable Power of Attorney. This must be done while you are competent. Once a person becomes incompetent the court must step in and take over for you.

Avoid Conservatorship.  Appoint someone  you know and trust to act for you while you can. Don’t leave it to strangers.

You determine and choose.
