Brenda Morton

Attorney Brenda Morton was born in Detroit, Michigan and raised in Denver, Colorado. While attending the University of Colorado, Brenda accepted an internship in Washington, D.C. and fell in love with the area where her parents were born and raised. She continued to work in the District of Columbia and transferred to Georgetown University, where she graduated cum laude. She obtained her Juris Doctorate degree from Georgetown University Law Center.

Prior to working at Wills and Trusts, LLC as an associate attorney, Brenda served as the Housing Development Administrator for Loudoun County and worked with housing developers to help create and retain affordable housing for the region. She also has extensive legislative and communication experience. As the Government Affairs and Communications Manager at the Dulles Area Association of Realtors, she was an advocate for the Association at the state and local government levels and managed the Association’s communications program. As the Deputy Director of Legislative and Public Affairs with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development (RD), Brenda directed their legislative efforts, served as a key spokesperson, and developed the first internet standards for RD headquarters and field offices. Brenda also served as Executive Director at the Policy Committee with the United States Senate, where she oversaw operations of professional staff, edited policy reports for dissemination to U.S. Senators, and coordinated one of the Senate’s computer user’s groups.

Brenda has extensive volunteer experience including serving as a pro bono attorney at the D.C. Probate Resource Center and the Legal Counsel for the Elderly; Past Chair and Member on Loudoun County Advisory Boards; volunteer for the Loudoun County Public Library; Past Chair and Member of several boards at a Condominium Association; and an Election Officer. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and has volunteered at numerous sorority community events.
