August 19, 2023 – Charles Fuller, An Example of Black Excellence

CHARLES FULLER

On August 19, 2023, attorney Charles “Chuck” Fuller appeared once again on “Law Talk with Ethel Mitchell” to share the legal guidance he gives in his publication The Black Man’s Guide to Surviving a Routine Traffic Stop.

An experienced civil and criminal defense lawyer, attorney Fuller knows constitutional rights.  As a Black man, he also knows the perils Black and brown men face daily. His publication tells you specifically what you should and should not do from the time you see a police car’s lights behind you to when you are hopefully allowed to leave.

Attorney Fuller told attorney Ethel Mitchell’s radio audience exactly what you should do and why.  According to attorney Fuller, the police have a job to do.  They are trained to be suspicious and alert to any movement or action one might take that could harm them.  In his important publication, attorney Fuller explains what you should do when you are pulled over, from putting on your signal lights to show you are pulling over, to stopping your car and keeping your hands in sight on the steering wheel. Turn the lights on inside the car if it is dark.  Wait for the officer to come to the car.  Don’t guess why he pulled you over if he asks.  Don’t get tricked into admitting that you had been drinking.  You have a right not to incriminate yourself. Sign the traffic citation if given one. It does not mean you can’t fight it in court later.  If you get out of the car, put the windows up and lock the car. Don’t argue with the police.

Attorney Fuller offers his brochure free of charge to churches, schools, organizations, etc.  He is available to speak to churches, schools, and organizations. This brochure is important for African American men –  husbands, brothers, sons, nephews, etc.. Attorney Fuller is an excellent speaker for boys and girls on how to protect yourselves.

Attorney Fuller knows constitutional rights.  He has represented criminal defendants for over 25 years. Attorney Fuller is listed as a top lawyer in “Super Lawyers.”  He has over twenty years of experience as a trial attorney. His depth of experience makes him one of the top Columbia, Maryland criminal defense lawyers and a top trial lawyer.
